About Me

Introduction

Welcome to my web portfolio and résumé. I am currently the Educational Technology Specialist for Science & Engineering Node Services, the computing support unit for the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo. I have a bachelor's degree in humanities from Oklahoma City University and a master's degree in library and information studies from the University of Oklahoma.

What I Do

Primarily, I am a web developer, but I also assist our users with classroom technology and web design. I also collaborate with other departments on individual web programming projects, such as a specialized content management system that scholars can use to annotate and edit text; an application that lets students create electronic portfolios; and an online scheduling system for a lab. I use web-standards-compliant XHTML and CSS, PHP, MySQL, and occasionally some Perl.

What I Don't Do

I don't capitalize "web" unless I'm following a specific style manual that requires it, using it at the beginning of a sentence, or using it in a title. I don't use FrontPage, and I don't shoot or edit video without serious coercion.

I don't write a syndicated column, and I'm not the author of Shrub and Bushwhacked; if that's the Molly you're looking for, check your spelling and try your search again (hint: it's the last name you're spelling incorrectly). I've also never been nominated for a Pulitzer. I am, however, the winner of a couple of Gold Circle awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in 1987 and 1988. That probably won't get me banned from the campus of Texas A&M, but I'll take it anyway.
